We had a client in West Chester, PA, reach out to our team to install a new walkway that connects their driveway to the front door of their house. We spoke with them about what materials they wanted to use, and they decided on sleek concrete pavers to ensure their walkway would be durable and stand the test of time. A meticulous installation process was followed, from properly preparing the area to carefully placing each paver. After that, we applied a sealant to protect the pavers from wear and tear. Finally, with the walkway complete, the last step of this project was to install landscape lighting fixtures along it, allowing our client to navigate it safely at night.

Our client's goal was to connect their driveway to the front of their house with a new walkway, making it more convenient to go between these areas. Our team worked with them to plan the project, designing it to run along their landscape beds. We also discussed their preferred material, and they chose high-quality concrete pavers to ensure the walkway is durable and long-lasting. Once we had a good idea of their goals, we got to work installing it!

The first step was to prep the area where the walkway would go, which involved clearing any existing grass and debris and grading the land to create a flat, even foundation. Then, we meticulously placed the individual pavers, opting for darker-colored ones as the border to define the walkway's shape. We used lighter gray pavers inside the border to contrast with it, arranging them in an ashlar pattern to add some visual appeal. After that, we spread aggregate rock along either side to promote proper drainage.

The Next Step of This Project Was to Seal the Paver Walkway

Once the paver walkway was installed, the next step of this project was to seal it! We applied a sealant over the pavers, which gives them a glossy finish. Not only does sealing them trap in their cleanliness, but it also protects them from the elements and wear and tear. This is an effective way to extend their longevity and ensure they can endure frequent foot traffic.

The last step of this project was to add landscape lighting fixtures along the paver walkway. We placed a couple towards the beginning of the walkway by the driveway and another by the front door to keep it illuminated once the sun goes down. That way, our client can safely and easily navigate it at night. Now they have more convenient access to their home from the driveway, the walkway boasting a long, thin design to blend in seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
