We had a client in Malvern, PA, contact our team to help create an outdoor living area in their backyard! So, we started with a consultation to discuss their goals. They had a lot of land to work with but didn't want to take up all of it. We collaborated with them to design a patio space that connects to their back door with a walkway, which they chose to build from durable pavers. Once we finished the design and they approved it, we moved on to installing the features, namely the patio with a fire pit and seating wall and the walkway. After that, we focused on repairing the surrounding grass that was damaged during the construction process. To do this, we spread seeds and covered them with straw to protect them and bring in new growth.

A consultation was the first step of this outdoor living project to discuss our client's goals.

The first step of this outdoor living project was a consultation with our client. During this initial meeting, we discussed their goals for their new space, from its shape and size to what features they wanted to incorporate and their desired materials. They wanted an area where they could spend time outside but still have yard space, so we worked with them to design a square patio that would serve as the foundation. A walkway was incorporated to connect the patio to their back door for easy access, which was also designed to have a fire pit and a small seating wall in the corner. After finishing the design and our client approving it, we moved forward with the installation!

The Installation of Our Client's Patio, Fire Pit & Walkway Was Next

Patio in Malvern, PA, with a walkway, seating wall, and fire pit.

Our team got to work installing our client's outdoor living features as the next step of this project. We built their patio and connecting walkway from pavers, which we bordered with darker-colored ones to define their shape. These pavers are highly durable, ensuring a long-lasting foundation that can stand up to the elements. Additionally, we incorporated a small seating wall in one corner of the patio and a fire pit in front of it. These features were constructed from concrete blocks that complement the look of the patio and walkway, creating a cohesive, purposeful aesthetic.

Our fire pits can burn gas or wood to suit your preferences!

We finished this project by spreading seeds and covering them with straw to repair the damaged grass.

Once all the main elements of this outdoor living project were complete, the only things left were the finishing touches. The grass surrounding the new patio space was damaged during construction, so we repaired it by spreading seeds and covering them with straw. Not only will the seeds bring in new grass growth, but the protective straw layer keeps them in place while shielding them from the elements and critters. That way, they have the best chance of successfully developing. With that done, our client now has a designated outdoor space where they can spend time and host gatherings even when the weather gets chilly, thanks to their new fire pit!
